I recently finished my PhD and am currently working as an environmental economist at an Australian university. My background is in modelling ecological decision-making, quantifying the amenity value of environmental resources, international forest carbon trading and land appraisal. When I am not behind my computer you can usually find me running or cycling along the Nightcliff Foreshore or travelling around Australia. Someday I would like to ride my bicycle around the world.

Thanks for your story on the Samoa trip. We are thinking of a cycle trip June 2011. Did you prebook any accommodation?

We did not prebook any accommodation and there was lots of vacancies at all the fales and resorts. We heard the only time you have to book is during the school holidays in July as lots of Kiwis head over for a short break. Enjoy your trip. It is a beautiful place to cycle!
